At Petri-dish Science we have high quality, year round S.T.E.A.M programs for kids from grades K - 5 
We are on a mission to nurture future innovators.Our lessons focus on teaching Science , Engineering and Design thinking concepts through Hands-on projects that are aligned with the NGSS standards.

    Our Philosophy

    Research has proven that children when engaged with science early on can develop a lifelong passion for it .
    We believe that there are no right or wrong answers. Every science and Engineering problem has many possible solutions and multiple ways to reach them.     
    Whats important at the end of each experience is not the success or failure of the project but the journey and the thinking process that brought them there.      At the very core of this program is the idea that it's ok to fail , then learn from it and try again. We use the engineering design process to guide us through this exciting journey.

    • We tightly integrate inquiry based hands-on projects, Literacy and the Arts within our science curriculum. This builds in our students, creative confidence and the ability to innovate fearlessly.​ 
    • Not to mention...The kids have a blast while learning and retaining basic science and Engineering knowledge for longer.
    • And the icing on the cake !!... They gain important 21st century life skills like problem solving ,critical thinking, empathy, a growth mindset and public speaking skills. 

    Each experience has been tailored carefully to suit the grade level of the child .

    ​History

    ​Our after-school program has been a highly popular and a much loved offering at Stocklmeir , West Valley, Montclaire , Collins and  Blue Hills elementary schools in the Cupertino Union School District for the past 3 years.
    We feel privileged for having been selected as a partner by Blue Hills elementary to offer our STEAM curriculum to all students during school hours and train school staff in the NGSS curriculum from 2018-2020.
    ​We also provided our services to Cupertino Union school district to design maker carts for their pilot rollout to schools in the district.
    In April 2020 Petri-dish Science was featured in NSTA reports for the unique integration of science and the arts in its curriculum.

    ​    Due to COVID related closures , we now offer our program online through our Virtual Studio
